Scenic Columbia River Gorge Wildflower Llama Trek

Adventure Details

You, llamas, wildflowers and the most breath-taking views of the Columbia River, the Gorge, and Mt. Hood. Your wolly companion adds a fun and quirky element to this peacefull and scenic experience. Unlike the busyness of the local waterfall hikes and tours you will trek in a relaxed environment taking in the vastness of the Gorge. The month of May is the absolute best time for this trek as the canyon walls are lush green with grass and the yellow balsam root and lavendar lupine wildflowers make the scenery pop. Isolated stands of white oak and ponderosa pine provide cover for Blacktail deer, Miriam turkeys, and the ocassional Rocky Mountain elk. Watch the sky for raptors such as Osprey and Red Tail hawks and listen for the songs of the Western Bluebird and Hermit Thrush.

Please be mindful of the weather and dress accordingly with rain gear or sun protection as needed. Trekking makes us thirsty and hungry as well so bring along a water bottle and a snack. We will hike on dirt trails so proper hiking shoes or boots are in order.
